Center Spread

If anyone has any ideas for the center spread post them here!

my initial idea was to dress everyone up as design movements and do a strange photo shoot --- modernism, decontrustrionism etc....... sort of like a poster ?


or we could steel the idea from last years group and display everyones cover designs???


or just a strange random image with a relevant to influence quote?

I really like the design movements, We could do a pretty mad fashion style shoot.

haha i think design movements would be the funniest. I vote for that

samo i like the idea of a movement shoot, plus it would bind our msg.
*just a thought - that polaroids would have a nice colour tone to them, but thats just a thought. and most likely a repeated one.

i dont think having the cover design is any good, its been done and dusted.

I agree with michaela that we dont display all our cover designs

annalise's idea of the design movements is spot on seeing as its our under lying theme and ties together what we are doing, so thats what I'd vote for!

Damn I was going to use that idea for the cover and have maybe 5 or 6 in normal clothes holding Empty picture frames in front of themselves, staging everything inside the frame to reflect a famous work of art.

That or have everyone dressed like art movements and posing to reflect a famous work of art like the Last supper (Da Vinci), Raising the cross (Paul Rubens) or a scene from the Sistine chapel Michelangelo, but perhaps that’s a little clichéd.... and a little controversial now that I think about it (Sorry ) either way it works better as an inside spread than a cover image so I’m all for it as well.
Good idea! Would defiantly set us out from the other magazines.

Alternatively we could dress everyone up and pose in relation to the article they wrote.
Lets the readers see the faces of the designers behind each article.....Just a thought

Suggst that you think about a fold out centre spread (roughly to the size of A2).
Production Managers can source the printer and cost.

but i wish i could see someone else in pop art pin up attire not me

• we should deffinatly organise a studio time, maybe in the break? or we could do it outdoors if anyone knows of a good location?(im thinking the top of a green lush hill, or theres an awsome old wharehouse in Newtown )
  
• Will everyone participate? or will we just have a few people dressed up?
  
• Costumes? - ideas on how we will dress up, cardboard? clothing? fabrics?
  
• Camera? - hire or own?
  
• A photographer/photographers ? (I'll put my hand up to photograph if anyone else is keen)
  
• Makeup? (could see if we could get in contact with the makeup school Juliana used for Fashion last year?)
  

Is everyone free through the break? - If we are going to go with this idea, we need to get organised and brainstorm this week.

I am keen on the photoshoot idea, but...
I dont think we should use that make up school though. I noticed that many people, including myself, had heaps of problems with them showing up and doing half decent make up jobs.
There is a make up school in Bondi which does awesome work, maybe try them?

the shoot sounds like a great idea however i think the only way its gonna work is if we do it during the tute cos its hard to organise around everyone when people have work etc.
We do need to get on it pretty soon tho! times running out!

So as discussed in class:

Wednesday 23 April we will be meeting at sydney Park, St Peters to do our photoshoot for the centre spread. (We were wanting to do it in the botanical gardens, but they don't take to kindly to un-warranted photography.)
The idea is for us as a group to tangle ourselves up in cassette tape, whilst the rolling in the plains of sydney park.
We ask everyone to wear urban clothing and if you have any spare tape decks, bring em!

If everyone could arrive around 10am so we can start shooting by 11am.

I've attached a map for everyone. If you get a train to 'St Peters' station, sydney park is directly across the road, you'll see the smoke towers. If you feel like a nice 15-20min walk, you can get off at Newtown station, leave to your left and follow King St down to Sydney Park.
If your parking, try around mitchell road/ sydney park road.

Also if anyone else is keen, thought it might be neat if we bring some food and drinks, bottle o bolly and have a picnic lunch or something? Thoughts?
