Hi Serryn,

I have applied the paragraph styles of the new grid to my document and I have tried to apply the master page to it as well. The way I do it is dragging and dropping it from one document to the other, but I have seen that the baseline grid isn't the same as it is in your grid.

How do i apply the master page completely to my document from yours?

Hi,

There could be a few reasons may your base line appears to be different:

- Firstly make sure you are using the most current version of the grid - Currently V1.2. In earlier versions of the grid the Base line shift option in the type palette was incorrectly set to 14pt.

- If you are using CS (as opposed to CS2/3) - You'll have to use adobe interchange file and re-save as a .indd file. This file may not keep all the original settings embedded in the original in design file. If you are using the interchange file (.inx) then refer to the PDF which outlines formatting problems when importing .inx file into CS

- Check that you haven't accidentally changed the Baseline Shift option in the Type pallet ( I did this, which was part of the reason for the revision of the grid ) The baseline shift icon in the type palette looks like this: Aa

- If the above are not the problem the check your grid increment settings in In Design. To do this got to Edit - Preferences - grids. Under the Increment Every option check if it's set to 4.939mm. If it's not change it to 4.939mm.

Tip: If you make changes to the paragraph styles in In design, a little + sign will appear next to the paragraph style to indicate you made changes to that particular style. Make sure you have no plus signs next to any of the 4 styles listed in the paragraph styles menu.
